The Out of School Club is open term – time only and operates a “Walking Bus” collection service from Christ Church, Ashbrow and Our Lady of Lourdes schools. We use the local bus service or private car to collect from St Thomas School in Bradley.
The Out of School Club is a great place for children to make new friends and enjoy fun activities in a specially resourced and relaxing environment with plenty of opportunity for outdoor play.
A light tea prepared by our cook is provided on arrival from school.
In the school holiday’s we also provide a Holiday Club which can be booked by calling in or contacting us (01484) 543978 or emailing chestnutnursery@ls2y.co.uk

What an amazing week we’ve had as all of our half-holiday groups came together for a very special Around the World Festival! 🎉![]()

Each group chose a country and got creative, learning and performing a dance inspired by their chosen country. 💃🕺 It was fantastic to see the children showcasing their performances and celebrating different cultures from around the world!![]()

There was plenty more fun throughout the day, with activities including Tin Can Alley, karaoke, face painting, glitter painting and lots more! 🎤🎨🎯✨![]()

Our 12+ group also had the chance to get creative making mocktails and drinks inspired by different countries. 🍹🌎![]()

And, of course, we couldn’t celebrate the world without food! 🌍 Our fantastic chef, Conner from Aspire Nursery prepared a delicious selection of dishes from around the world for everyone to enjoy, including Indian curry, Greek salad, Italian bolognese and more. 🍛🥗🍝![]()

It was such a lovely week of fun, creativity, culture, food and fantastic memories. ❤️ We’re so proud of all the children for getting involved and making our Around the World Festival so special!![]()

💦 Water Play Day at Chestnut Holiday Club! ☀️![]()

It was a very hot day at Chestnut Holiday Club, so we turned our whole day into a water-filled adventure! 💦 Not only was it lots of fun, but the activities were planned to help everyone stay cool and safe in the heat, with plenty of drinks, shade and opportunities to cool down — staff included! 😂![]()

💧 Water Relay![]()
The children worked together to transport water, developing hand-eye coordination, balance, communication and teamwork.![]()

🌊 Water Slide & Obstacle Course![]()
These activities helped develop physical skills, confidence, coordination and teamwork. We also brought maths into our play by counting obstacles, comparing amounts of water and exploring concepts such as full, empty, more and less.![]()

🎨 Colour Laboratory![]()
In our mud kitchen colour laboratory, the children experimented with water and different colours, mixing them together to create new colours. This encouraged curiosity, creativity and early scientific thinking.![]()

💦 Water Fight!![]()
Of course, we couldn’t have a water day without a water fight! 😂 This was a great way to have fun together, build friendships, practise turn-taking and cool down in the sunshine.![]()

🌞 A little reminder for parents:![]()
As the weather is staying warm throughout the holidays, please remember to send your child with spare clothes, suncream, a sun hat, sunglasses and a water bottle each day. These will help keep children comfortable, protected and hydrated while they enjoy all the fun we have planned!![]()
