Community House Pre-School strives to provide a home from home environment where your children will be taken care of to the highest standard. The Pre-school is open from 9:00am and closes at 3:00pm, offering half day sessions or full days. We currently offer places to children who are of 2 years old and up and support them along their developmental journey. We love to learn about and incorporate different cultures into our Pre-School setting and routine and we learn a different language a week in our ‘Hello Song’.
Our approach is child driven, which means our planned activities are set to unlock and further your children’s interests. Our staff are knowledgeable and share a wide range of experience which contributes to creating stimulating and fun activities. The Pre-School operates using a Key Person system; however, we love to cultivate and support relationships amongst all staff and children. We are a small setting and work with the ethos that the child chooses their Key Person.

Before arriving at the Pre-School, a member of the Management Team and a Nursery Practitioner will come and visit you at your home. We value home visits and aim to ensure the transition process into the setting is all at the child’s pace and cater the settling visits around the needs of the child. We use an online system to monitor and capture your child’s development and Pre-School experience. This is where videos and photographs are posted along with an observation and dialogue from your child, their peers, and staff members.
The Pre-School has formed and treasured relationships with the local community and we also offer a food cupboard, which is situated at the front of the building. At Community House Pre-School we love to invite our parent’s in to take part in events, parties and so much more. We also have an onsite Baby Boutique shop where we offer pre-loved clothes to families. Community House has recently held a successful ESOL class which was run at the setting by Kirklees College. A key component to our community is cooking, therefore we incorporated a cooking twist to the classes. As families came and learned English, they also cooked and baked for the children here at Community House Preschool.
We use the Curiosity Approach in our Nurseries, to find out more about this you can visit this website Parents (thecuriosityapproach.com)
