Chestnut Pre-school

In the Pre-School room our aim is for your child/children to have fun, learn and develop while preparing them for their onward journey to school.

Your child’s key person will observe and plan for their individual interests and needs to ensure they reach their maximum potential, however they will develop at their own pace; have fun; make friends; learning while they play, making good use of our wonderful outdoor areas. They will be encouraged to be creative, explore, experiment. Your child will learn the important social skills of sharing and cooperating, while building self-esteem and becoming competent with numbers and language.

Each child will have their own peg with their name on to help them develop name recognition and have a sense of belonging, along with our self registration procedure.

The children in Pre School are actively involved in Healthy Eating, they are proud to grow their own vegetables, which Sue (our cook) then uses to create their meals.

We have formed close links with all the local schools and hold a very successful transition evening in the summer of each year and also drop off and collect children from all the local schools for our Out of School Club.
